Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup apple cider (fresh or store-bought)

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

Incorporate Egg and Cider: Add the egg, vanilla extract, and apple cider to the butter mixture. Mix until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the chopped nuts and dried cranberries or raisins.

Scoop the Dough: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked, but they will continue to cook on the baking sheet after removing them from the oven.

Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy: Serve warm or at room temperature. These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: About 24 cookies
