4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1 lb asparagus, trimmed

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 lemons (1 for juice, 1 for slices)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 teaspoon dried parsley or fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon dried thyme or fresh thyme, chopped

Aluminum foil

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare the Foil: Cut four large pieces of aluminum foil, about 12 inches long each.

      Layer the Asparagus: Place an equal portion of the trimmed asparagus in the center of each piece of foil. Drizzle with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

        Prepare the Salmon: Place a salmon fillet on top of the asparagus in each foil packet.

          Make the Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, juice of one lemon, parsley, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.

            Add the Sauce: Spoon the lemon garlic butter sauce over the salmon and asparagus in each packet.

              Add Lemon Slices: Top each salmon fillet with a couple of lemon slices for extra flavor.

                Seal the Foil Packets: Fold the sides of the foil over the salmon and asparagus to create a sealed packet, ensuring no juices escape.

                  Bake: Place the prepared foil packets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

                    Serve: Carefully open the packets (watching for steam) and serve the salmon and asparagus hot, drizzled with any remaining butter sauce from the foil.
