Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir well. Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 20 minutes at room temperature.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the marinated shrimp (reserve the marinade) to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on one side until they turn pink and slightly caramelized. Flip them over.

Add the Marinade: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet with the shrimp. Allow it to bubble and thicken for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is sticky and coats the shrimp nicely. If using, sprinkle in red pepper flakes during the last minute of cooking for an extra kick.

Garnish and Serve: Once the shrimp are cooked through and the sauce is sticky, remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter. Garnish with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Enjoy: Serve immediately with rice or noodles to soak up the delicious sticky sauce!
