Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup unsalted butter

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Cajun Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a Cajun seasoning blend.

Season the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides of each fillet with olive oil and generously season with the Cajun blend. Make sure all parts of the fish are well-coated.

Make the Cajun Butter: In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice. Set aside.

Cook the Salmon: Heat a large cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving them, allowing a blackened crust to form.

Flip and Finish Cooking: Carefully flip the salmon fillets over and reduce the heat to medium. Spoon the Cajun butter over the salmon while finishing cooking for another 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired doneness (internal temperature should reach 145°F).

Garnish and Serve: Remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Drizzle any remaining Cajun butter over the top and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick!
