Ingredients

2 cups pecan halves

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar (packed)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Make sure not to let it brown; remove it from the heat once fully melted.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, sea salt, and optional spices (cinnamon and nutmeg). Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Coat the Pecans: Add the pecan halves to the bowl and gently stir to coat them evenly with the buttery brown sugar mixture.

Spread on Baking Sheet: Pour the coated pecans onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer to ensure even roasting.

Roast in the Oven: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes, stirring once halfway through to prevent burning. Keep an eye on them, as nuts can quickly go from perfectly roasted to burnt.

Cool and Serve: Once the pecans are golden brown and fragrant, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crunchier as they cool.

Store: Once cooled, you can store the Buttery Brown Sugar Roasted Pecans in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
