Ingredients

2 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Prep the apples: In a medium-sized bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.

Cook the filling: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the marinated apple mixture and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the apples are slightly softened. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface. Separate it into triangles.

Assemble the bombs: Take about a tablespoon of the apple mixture and place it in the center of each crescent triangle. Drizzle a little caramel sauce over the apples and sprinkle with chopped pecans if using. Fold the dough over to enclose the filling and pinch to seal the edges, forming a ball.

Prepare for baking: Place the caramel apple pie bombs seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color while baking.

Bake them: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool and serve: After baking, allow the bombs to cool for a few minutes. Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
