Ingredients

1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour

½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup (80g) mini marshmallows

Extra cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.

Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Fold in Chocolate Chips and Marshmallows: Gently fold the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows into the dough until evenly distributed.

Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Create the Swirl Effect: With a toothpick or the back of a spoon, gently swirl a little bit of cocoa powder into the top of each cookie dough ball to create a marbled appearance.

Bake: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.

Cool Down: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
