Ingredients

1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup pecans, chopped

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

3 large eggs

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup dark chocolate (for drizzling, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges and set aside.

Toast the Pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, lightly toast the chopped pecans for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.

Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until fully melted. Set aside to cool slightly.

Mix the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. Gradually stir in the melted chocolate until the mixture is smooth and evenly mixed.

Add Pecans: Fold the toasted pecans into the chocolate mixture until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Pie: Pour the chocolate-pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Bake the Pie: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. The top will look slightly puffed.

Cool Down: Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely at room temperature, about 2 hours.

Drizzle Chocolate (Optional): If desired, melt dark chocolate and drizzle over the cooled pie for an extra touch of decadence.

Serve: Slice and serve your chocolate pecan pie warm or chilled. Enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream for an added treat!
