½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup milk

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

        Add Wet Ingredients: Beat in the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

          Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined; do not overmix.

            Make Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans (if using).

              Layer the Batter: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and then sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture. Use a knife to gently swirl the mixtures together, creating a marbled effect.
