Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (includes icing)

2 large eggs

1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

Prep the Cinnamon Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Open the tube of cinnamon rolls and separate them. Cut each roll into quarters to create bite-sized pieces.

Make the Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg until fully combined.

Coat the Cinnamon Roll Pieces: Add the chopped cinnamon roll pieces to the egg mixture, gently tossing them to ensure all pieces are well coated.

Cook the Bites: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Once hot, add a portion of the coated cinnamon roll pieces to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.

Transfer and Repeat: Remove the cooked bites and place them on the lined baking tray. Repeat the cooking process with the remaining pieces until all are cooked.

Bake for a Crispier Finish: Once everything is cooked, place the baking tray in the preheated oven for an additional 5-7 minutes to make the bites even crispier.

Drizzle with Icing: While baking, warm the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls. Remove the tray from the oven, and while still warm, drizzle the icing over the cinnamon roll French toast bites.

Serve: Dust with powdered sugar for an elegant touch and serve with warm maple syrup on the side for dipping.
