Ingredients

1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved

1 cup cherry pie filling

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed

1 cup crushed graham crackers

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup chopped almonds or walnuts (optional)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish to form the crust.

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.

Gently fold in the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust.

In a separate bowl, mix the fresh cherries and cherry pie filling together. Spread this cherry mixture over the cream cheese layer.

If desired, sprinkle chopped almonds or walnuts on top for added crunch.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set. For best results, let it chill overnight.

Before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves and extra cherries if desired.
