Ingredients

8 ounces fettuccine pasta

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the fettuccine and set aside.

      Sauté the Shrimp:

        - In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

          - Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

            Make the Alfredo Sauce:

              - In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream, and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.

                - Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if desired. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

                  Combine Pasta and Shrimp:

                    - Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing it gently to coat in the creamy Alfredo sauce. Fold in the sautéed shrimp and allow everything to heat through for about 1-2 minutes.

                      Serve:

                        - Transfer the creamy shrimp Alfredo pasta to serving plates or bowls. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy immediately!
