1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled)

For the Mocha Frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons strong brewed coffee (cooled)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk (adjust for desired consistency)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.

      Mix in Eggs and Vanilla: Allow the butter-sugar mixture to cool slightly. Then add eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

        Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

          Integrate Together: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Finally, stir in the cooled coffee until the batter is smooth.
