Ingredients

1 pound cocktail smokies (mini smoked sausages)

1 pound bacon (thinly sliced)

1 cup brown sugar (packed)

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Toothpicks (for securing)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top of the sheet. This will help the bacon crispen evenly.

Prepare the Bacon: Cut each slice of bacon into thirds. You want them to be long enough to wrap around your cocktail smokies.

Wrap the Smokies: Take a cocktail smokie, wrap a piece of bacon around it, and secure it with a toothpick. Repeat this process for all the smokies.

Seasoning Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.

Coat the Wrapped Smokies: Roll each bacon-wrapped smokie in the brown sugar mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Place them on the wire rack on the baking sheet.

Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through for even cooking, until the bacon is crispy and the brown sugar has caramelized.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy snacking. Enjoy the crispy, sweet, and smoky flavors!
