Ingredients

4 medium russet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Potatoes: Wash the russet potatoes thoroughly, then cut them into even-sized wedges or fries (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick).

Soak the Fries: Place the cut potatoes in cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and will make your fries crispier.

Drain and Dry: After soaking, drain the water and thoroughly dry the potatoes with a kitchen towel or paper towels.

Coat the Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, toss the dried potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well coated.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded to promote even crisping.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through for even browning. Bake until they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Garnish and Serve: Once they’re done, remove the fries from the oven and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce!
