Ingredients

1 pound chicken tenders

1 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon hot sauce (more for extra heat, optional)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko preferred for extra crispiness)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup buffalo sauce

2 tablespoons ranch seasoning (or to taste)

Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce together. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).

Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three bowls: one with flour, the second with a mixture of Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, and the third with any remaining buttermilk mixture.

Dredge the Chicken: Remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk and allow excess to drip off. First, dip each tender into the flour, coating completely. Next, dip it into the buttermilk mixture again, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture. Press firmly to ensure the crumbs adhere well.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about ½ inch of oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers (about 350°F or 175°C).

Fry the Tenders: Carefully add the breaded chicken tenders in batches (don’t overcrowd the pan). Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should be 165°F or 74°C). Drain on paper towels.

Toss in Buffalo Sauce: While the tenders are still hot, place them in a large bowl, pour buffalo sauce over them, and toss until they're well coated. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning on top and toss again.

Serve: Plate the crispy buffalo ranch chicken tenders with your choice of dipping sauces and celery sticks on the side. Enjoy the crunch and kick!
