Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp rice vinegar

1/2 tsp sesame oil

2 green onions (sliced for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Wings: Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This helps them become crispy when cooked.

Make the Coating: In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. This combination will create a crispy exterior.

Coat the Wings: Add the chicken wings to the flour mixture, tossing them until well-coated. Shake off any excess flour. For a thicker crust, let the coated wings sit for about 10 minutes.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. You can test the oil’s readiness by dropping a small pinch of flour into it; if it sizzles, it’s ready.

Fry the Wings: Carefully add the wings to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally for even cooking. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wings and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Prepare the Sweet Chili Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine sweet chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Toss the Wings: In a large mixing bowl, add the crispy wings and pour the sweet chili sauce over them. Toss gently until all wings are thoroughly coated with the sauce.

Serve: Transfer the sweet chili chicken wings to a serving platter. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for an added touch.

Enjoy: Serve immediately while hot, pairing with your favorite dipping sauce or side!
