Ingredients

1 cup pecan halves

1 cup unsalted peanuts

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup light corn syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 pinch of salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

1 cup chocolate chips (milk or dark, for drizzling)

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Toast the Nuts: Spread the pecans and peanuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until they're fragrant and lightly golden, stirring halfway through. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Prepare the Praline Mixture: In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir continuously until the mixture begins to boil.

Simmer and Thicken: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue stirring for about 5-7 minutes until the mixture reaches a deep golden color and thickens slightly.

Add Vanilla and Baking Soda: Remove the saucepan from heat. Carefully stir in the vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using). The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious!

Combine with Nuts: Pour the toasted nuts into the saucepan and quickly stir until they're completely coated with the praline mixture.

Spread and Cool: Pour the nut mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, using a spatula to spread it out evenly. Allow it to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until it hardens.

Chop and Drizzle: Once cooled, break the praline crunch into bite-sized pieces. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the praline pieces for an extra touch of decadence.

Let Set: Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature or place the praline crunch in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to speed up the setting process.

Serve and Enjoy: Store your Praline Heaven Crunch in an airtight container. Serve as a sweet snack, dessert topping, or delightful gift!
