Ingredients

1 pound frozen meatballs (either beef, turkey, or plant-based)

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup uncooked penne pasta

3 cups water or chicken broth

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large, deep baking dish (9x13 inches), spread the frozen meatballs evenly across the bottom.

Sprinkle the uncooked penne pasta over the meatballs.

In a separate bowl, combine the marinara sauce, water or chicken broth, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.

Pour this sauce mixture evenly over the meatballs and pasta, ensuring everything is well covered.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, remove the foil and stir the casserole gently to combine. Then, sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
