Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked pasta or crusty bread, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Melt Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to foam.

Sauté Garlic: Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Cook Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side until fully cooked. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to combine with the melted garlic butter. Allow it to simmer gently for 1-2 minutes.

Add Cheese & Lemon: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Then, add the lemon juice and mix well. Taste and adjust seasoning with extra salt and pepper as needed.

Combine Shrimp & Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat them in the creamy sauce. Simmer for another minute to ensure everything is heated through.

Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Serve over cooked pasta or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
