Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by rinsing the shrimp under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. Chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and boil for 2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, making sure not to burn the garlic.

Combine and Toss: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the garlic butter, add the blanched broccoli, and drizzle with lemon juice. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with rice, noodles, or crusty bread.
