Ingredients

4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Cod: Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Make the Lemon Butter Sauce: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).

Add Lemon Zest and Thyme: Stir in the lemon zest and thyme, cooking for an additional minute to release the flavors.

Cook the Cod: Place the seasoned cod fillets in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Add Lemon Juice: Once the cod is cooked through, drizzle the lemon juice over the fillets, allowing it to coat the fish and mix with the butter sauce.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for extra zest.
