Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup milk

1 large egg

For the Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Icing:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and greasing a 9x9-inch baking dish.

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, and egg. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 1 minute, until it is smooth and elastic. Roll it into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

Roll and Cut: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 1-inch thick rolls and place them in the prepared baking dish.

Bake: Bake the cinnamon rolls in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Icing: While the rolls are baking, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.

Glaze and Serve: Once the rolls are baked, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the icing over the top. Serve warm and enjoy!
