Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup caramel slices or soft caramel candies

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting some hang over the sides for easy removal.

In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well blended.

Add vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture. Beat until smooth and creamy.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips for a delightful crunch and richness.

Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing it out evenly.

Melt the caramel candies in a microwave-safe bowl for about 30-45 seconds, stirring until smooth. Drizzle half of the melted caramel over the batter.

Spread the remaining batter over the caramel layer. Drizzle the rest of the melted caramel on top. Use a toothpick to swirl the caramel into the batter slightly for a marbled effect.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let the bars cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cool, lift out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
