Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Pour half of the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.

Pour the remaining batter on top and gently spread it out. Finish by drizzling the remaining caramel sauce over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Allow the turtle bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares. Enjoy your decadent treat!
