Ingredients

1 package (1 lb) of puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed

4 oz sliced ham (preferably smoked or honey-glazed)

4 oz Gruyère cheese, shredded (or substitute with Swiss cheese)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out each sheet of puff pastry to smooth out any creases. Cut each sheet into 6 equal triangles.

Make the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the shredded Gruyère cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.

        Assemble Croissants:

          - Place a small dollop of Dijon mustard at the base of each pastry triangle.

            - Layer a slice of ham and a generous amount of the cheese mixture on top.

              - Starting from the base, roll the pastry triangles tightly towards the point to form croissants.

Apply Egg Wash: Place the rolled croissants on the prepared baking sheet with the point facing down. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley for an extra touch. Serve warm as a delicious breakfast or snack!
