Ingredients

1 large French baguette (or Italian bread)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh oregano, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Slice the Baguette: Using a serrated knife, slice the baguette diagonally into 1-inch thick slices, being careful not to cut all the way through the bottom. This will help the garlic butter seep into each slice.

Butter the Bread: Take a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture and spread it between each slice of the bread. Then, spread any remaining butter on top of the bread.

Wrap in Foil: Wrap the baguette in aluminum foil, ensuring it is tightly sealed to keep the moisture in while baking.

Bake the Bread: Place the wrapped baguette on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes.

Add Parmesan (optional): If you like cheesy garlic bread, unwrap the foil after 15 minutes and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the bread. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.

Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice through the bread fully and serve warm. Enjoy the delightful aroma and taste of your herb-infused garlic bread!
