Ingredients

1 large round sourdough bread (about 1 pound)

1 cup Brie cheese, cut into small pieces

1/2 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon sea salt

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Extra rosemary or thyme sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for the bread.

Prepare the Bread: Take the sourdough bread and cut a circular cap off the top. Carefully hollow out the insides using your hands or a serrated knife, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell. Keep the removed bread pieces for later use.

Mix the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the Brie cheese, cranberry sauce, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and chopped thyme. Season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Gently mix until well incorporated.

Assemble the Bread: Brush the inside of the hollowed-out sourdough with melted butter. Spoon the Brie and cranberry mixture into the bread, packing it in lightly.

Cover and Bake: Place the cap back on top of the stuffed bread. Wrap it in aluminum foil to prevent it from burning and to keep it moist. Place it on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

Unwrap and Toast: After 25-30 minutes, remove the bread from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Return it to the oven without the foil for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve: Remove the stuffed bread from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Garnish with extra herb sprigs, if desired. Serve warm by tearing or cutting pieces off the bread.
