Ingredients

8 oz. noodles (your choice: udon, soba, or spaghetti)

4 tbsp sesame oil

5 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tbsp rice vinegar

2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted

4 green onions, chopped

Fresh cilantro or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.

Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sautéed garlic. Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss to coat evenly. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the noodles are heated through.

Finish with Toppings: Remove from heat and sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the noodles. Toss gently to combine.

Serve: Plate the garlic sesame noodles and garnish with fresh cilantro or basil if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
