Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad

2 heads of romaine lettuce, halved lengthwise

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup homemade or store-bought Caesar dressing

1 cup croutons (preferably homemade)

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Freshly ground black pepper, for garnish

Prepare the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F to 450°F). If using a grill pan, preheat it over medium heat.

    Prep the Romaine: Drizzle the cut sides of the romaine lettuce with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Make sure to coat them evenly for a flavorful char.

      Grill the Romaine: Place the romaine halves cut-side down on the grill. Grill for about 2-3 minutes until you see good grill marks and the lettuce is slightly wilted but still crisp. Flip and grill for another 1-2 minutes, just to warm the other side without further wilting.

        Prepare the Caesar Dressing: If you’re making your own Caesar dressing, combine the dressing ingredients in a bowl. If using store-bought, ensure it's well mixed and set aside.

          Assemble the Salad: Remove the grilled romaine from the grill and place it on a large serving platter. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the warm lettuce evenly, then sprinkle the croutons and freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
