Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/3 cup melted butter

1 teaspoon baking soda

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup sugar (you can use brown sugar for a richer flavor)

1 large egg, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.

Mix the Butter and Bananas: In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until well combined.

Add Sugars and Egg: Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.

Add Dry Ingredients: Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and blend in. Finally, add the flour and mix just until you can no longer see the flour. (Be careful not to over mix.)

Fold in Nuts/Chips: If you're using walnuts or chocolate chips, fold them into the batter gently.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
