Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

¾ cup buttermilk

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs

½ cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Biscuits:

    - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

      - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

        - Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

          - Gradually stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Do not overmix!

            - Turn the dough onto a floured surface, gently knead a few times, and roll or pat it out to about 1 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut into rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

              Bake the Biscuits:

                - Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.

                  Prepare the Chicken:

                    - While the biscuits are baking, prepare the chicken. Season the thighs with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

                      - Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and nice and golden. Internal temperature should register 165°F (75°C).

                        - Once cooked, remove from heat and drizzle with hot honey. Toss to coat evenly.

                          Assemble the Biscuits:

                            - Slice the warm biscuits in half and layer pieces of the hot honey chicken between each half. Drizzle a bit more hot honey on top, if desired.

                              - Garnish with chopped chives or parsley for a pop of color and extra flavor.

                                Serve:

                                  - Serve the hot honey chicken biscuits warm as a delightful brunch treat or a main dish. Enjoy this delicious sweet and spicy combination!
