Ingredients

500g chicken breast, minced

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1/4 cup cornflour

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 egg, beaten

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp ginger, minced

3 green onions, finely chopped

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Oil for frying

Sweet and sour sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced chicken, breadcrumbs, cornflour, all-purpose flour, beaten egg, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Shape the Balls: With wet hands, take a small amount of the mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture and place the balls on a baking sheet.

Fry the Chicken Balls: Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat. Once the oil is hot (about 180°C / 350°F), carefully drop a few balls into the oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove the balls and drain on paper towels.

Serve: Serve the chicken balls hot with a side of sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
