Ingredients

1 loaf of Italian bread (about 12 inches long)

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 pound sliced salami

1/2 pound sliced ham

1/2 pound sliced provolone cheese

1/2 pound sliced pepperoni

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup sliced tomatoes

1/4 cup sliced red onions

1/4 cup sliced green bell peppers

1/4 cup vinegar-based Italian dressing

Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil spray

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and hollow out some of the bread from the center to make room for the fillings.

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly on both halves of the bread.

Layer the sliced salami, ham, provolone cheese, and pepperoni on the bottom half of the bread.

Add a generous layer of shredded lettuce, followed by sliced tomatoes, red onions, and green bell peppers.

Drizzle the Italian dressing over the top of the veggies, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Place the top half of the bread back over the filled bottom half and press down gently to compact.

Spray the outside of the sandwich with olive oil and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.

Place the wrapped sandwich in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until it’s heated through and the cheese is melted.

Remove from the oven, unwrap, and let it cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares.
