Instructions

Make the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

      - Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine.

        - In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

          - Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

            - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

              Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:

                - In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, garlic powder, and chives until smooth. Set aside.

                  Shape the Buns:

                    - Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces.

                      - Flatten each piece into a small circle using your hands. Place a tablespoon of cream cheese filling in the center, fold the dough around the filling, and pinch it closed to form a bun.

                        - Place the buns seam-side down on a greased baking tray, leaving some space between each.

                          Second Rise:

                            - Cover the formed buns with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

                              Prepare Garlic Butter:

                                - While the buns are rising, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt in a small bowl.

                                  Bake the Buns:

                                    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                                      - Once the buns have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.

                                        - Remove the buns from the oven and immediately brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

                                          Serve:

                                            - Let the buns cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best flavor!
