Ingredients

2 racks of baby back ribs

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice)

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoons salt

1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/4 cup honey

Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Ribs: Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs for enhanced tenderness. Use a paper towel for a better grip and gently pull it away.

Make the Dry Rub: In a bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a dry rub.

Season the Ribs: Generously rub the spice mixture on both sides of the ribs. Wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Preheat Your Grill/Oven: If using a grill, preheat to 225°F (107°C). If using an oven, set it to the same temperature.

Prepare Sauce Mixture: In a small saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey. Heat over medium-low until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

            Cook the Ribs:

              - For Grill: Place the ribs on the grill bone-side down. Close the lid and cook for about 3 hours, maintaining a steady temperature. Brush the ribs with the sauce mixture every 30 minutes.

                - For Oven: Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover tightly with another piece of foil. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours. Brush the ribs with the sauce mixture every 30 minutes during the last hour.

Finishing Touch: When the ribs are tender, remove them from the grill/oven. For a caramelized finish, brush on a final layer of BBQ sauce and put them back on the grill for 10-15 minutes (or under the broiler in the oven) to achieve a nice glaze.

Serve: Let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
