1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup whole milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and whole milk. Stir the mixture well to ensure there are no lumps.

    Place the saucepan over medium heat and add the cubed unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the butter has melted and the mixture begins to boil.

      Once it reaches a boil, stop stirring and let it boil for about 2 minutes without stirring. This will help thicken the icing.

        Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes.
