Ingredients

2 pounds chicken drumsticks

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon brown sugar

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet to allow air circulation.

Prepare the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Coat the Chicken: Add the chicken drumsticks to the marinade, tossing them thoroughly to ensure each piece is well-coated. For best flavor, marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator, or for 2 to 4 hours if time allows.

Arrange on Rack: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and place them on the wire rack. Reserve the leftover marinade to brush on later.

Bake the Drumsticks: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.

Apply BBQ Sauce: After 25 minutes, carefully remove the baking sheet and brush the drumsticks generously with BBQ sauce. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the drumsticks are caramelized.

Final Glaze: For a stickier glaze, brush an additional layer of BBQ sauce onto the drumsticks during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Rest & Serve: Once baked, let the drumsticks rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
