Ingredients

3 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Optional toppings: chopped walnuts, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of honey

Instructions

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it starts to foam slightly.

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

Add the sliced bananas to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften and caramelize, gently stirring with a spatula to avoid breaking them.

Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the bananas, and drizzle the vanilla extract on top. Stir gently to coat the bananas evenly in the mixture.

Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, letting the bananas get golden brown and syrupy. Be careful not to overcook them as they will become mushy.

Remove from heat and serve immediately, topping with optional walnuts, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a drizzle of honey for added indulgence.
