Ingredients

4 cups fresh broccoli florets

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Zest of 1 lemon

Fresh lemon wedges, for serving

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high heat helps to achieve the perfect roast.

Prepare the Broccoli: Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Make sure they’re nice and dry for optimal roasting.

Season the Broccoli: In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated.

Add the Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the seasoned broccoli and toss gently again to ensure the cheese adheres to each floret.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the broccoli evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the florets are not overcrowded to allow for even roasting.

Roast the Broccoli: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the broccoli is tender. For an extra golden finish, you can broil it for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end, but keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Finish and Serve: Remove the broccoli from the oven and sprinkle with lemon zest for a vibrant flavor. Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges and garnish with chopped parsley if desired for a pop of color.
