Ingredients

For the Brownie Layer:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Cheesecake Layer:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

For the Topping:

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup crushed peanuts (optional)

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.

Make the Brownie Layer: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Stir in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared springform pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool slightly while you prepare the cheesecake layer.

Prepare the Cheesecake Layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and peanut butter together until creamy using an electric mixer. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed just until combined. Do not overmix.

Assemble the Cheesecake: Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled brownie layer, smoothing it out with a spatula. Tap the pan gently on the counter to remove any air bubbles.

Bake the Cheesecake: Bake the cheesecake for 50-60 minutes or until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle. Turn off the oven and crack the oven door, allowing the cheesecake to cool gradually inside the oven for 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Prepare the Topping: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter together until smooth, stirring continuously. Once melted, drizzle the chocolate over the chilled cheesecake and sprinkle with crushed peanuts if desired.

Serve: Carefully remove the cheesecake from the springform pan. Slice and serve chilled to enjoy the rich combination of brownie and cheesecake flavors.
