Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

Add Boiling Water: Carefully stir in the boiling water to the batter, mixing until fully combined. The batter will be thin, which is normal.

Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cakes: Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Frosting: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the peanut butter and softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until smooth and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Frost the Cakes: Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of peanut butter frosting on top. Place the other layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

Decorate: Sprinkle chopped peanuts and chocolate shavings on top of the cake for garnish.

Serve & Enjoy: Cut into slices and serve. Enjoy your Nutty Delight Peanut Butter Layer Cake with family and friends!
