Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup pizza sauce (plus extra for topping)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any favorite toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives)

2 pre-made pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Season with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and your choice of toppings (like pepperoni, bell peppers, etc.). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie pan, pressing down to fit. Trim any excess hanging over the edges.

Fill the Pie: Spoon the beef and cheese mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

Top with Crust: Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the top of the filling. Crimp the edges to seal the pie. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Egg Wash: Beat the egg in a small bowl. Brush the egg wash over the top crust to give it a golden-brown color when baked.

Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.

Finishing Touch: Once baked, let the pie cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Top with extra pizza sauce if desired and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

Serve: Slice into wedges and serve hot as a unique and delicious dinner option!
