Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined and resembles wet sand.

        - Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan. Ensure an even layer for a good crust.

          - Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

            Make the Peanut Butter Filling:

              - In another bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth.

                - In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream and vanilla extract into the peanut butter mixture until fully combined.

                  - Add a pinch of salt for enhanced flavor. Once combined, spread this mixture evenly over the cooled tart crust. Smooth the top with a spatula. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to set.

                    Prepare the Chocolate Ganache:

                      - In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over low heat until just simmering, but do not boil. Remove from heat.

                        - Add the chopped semi-sweet chocolate and butter to the hot cream. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

                          - Pour the ganache over the chilled peanut butter filling, spreading it gently to cover completely.

                            Chill and Garnish:

                              - Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours, or until the ganache is fully set.

                                - Before serving, garnish with chopped peanuts and a light drizzle of melted chocolate if desired. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt for an added flavor boost.

                                  Serve:

                                    - Carefully remove the tart from the pan. Slice with a sharp knife, wiping the knife between cuts for clean edges. Serve cold and enjoy the rich combination of chocolate and peanut butter!
