Ingredients

4 ripe tomatoes, diced

1 medium red onion, finely chopped

1-2 jalapeño peppers, seeds removed and minced (adjust based on spice preference)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (optional for extra flavor)

1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions

Start by washing all your vegetables. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes and place them into a large mixing bowl.

Finely chop the red onion and add it to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Carefully remove the seeds from the jalapeño peppers and then mince them. Adjust the amount based on how spicy you want your salsa to be and add it to the bowl.

Chop the fresh cilantro and add it in as well. The cilantro will give your salsa a fresh, vibrant flavor.

Squeeze the juice of one lime into the bowl. This will add a nice zing and help preserve the freshness of your salsa.

Add the salt and ground cumin (if using), and then mix everything together gently to combine all the flavors.

For an extra kick of flavor, you can also add minced garlic at this stage.

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for your favorite dishes!
