1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 egg

1/2 cup buttermilk

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

3 tbsp sweet chili sauce

2 tbsp sriracha (add more for extra spice)

1 tsp lime juice

For Assembly:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 avocado, sliced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions
 

Prepare the Bang Bang Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice until smooth and well blended. Set aside.

    Prepare the Shrimp:

      - In one bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

        - In another bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk.

          - Dip each shrimp first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the flour mixture.

            Fry the Shrimp:

              - Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a generous amount of oil (enough to coat the bottom of the pan).

                - Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp in a single layer, frying in batches if necessary.

                  - Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

                    Assemble the Tacos:

                      - Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.

                        - Place a generous amount of shredded lettuce on each tortilla, followed by several pieces of crispy shrimp.
