Ingredients

For the Bread Bowl:

1 large round sourdough bread loaf

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp dried Italian herbs

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Seafood Stuffing:

1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped

1 cup crab meat (fresh or canned)

1 cup scallops, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup bell peppers, diced (red and green)

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Bread Bowl: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the top off the sourdough bread and scoop out the insides, leaving about an inch of bread as a shell. Brush the inside of the bread bowl and the lid with olive oil, and then sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Place on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes, until golden and slightly crispy.

Make the Seafood Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic and chopped onion until the onion becomes translucent. Add the bell peppers and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.

Combine Seafood & Cream Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, crab meat, scallops, sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Mix until everything is well integrated.

Stuff the Bread Bowl: Remove your bread bowl from the oven. Carefully fill the hollowed-out bread with the seafood mixture, pressing it down gently to fit.

Bake: Cover the stuffed bread bowl with the bread lid you cut earlier. Wrap the entire bread bowl in aluminum foil and place it back in the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes to heat through and allow the flavors to meld. For the last 5 minutes, unwrap the foil to let the top brown slightly.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. To enjoy, scoop out some filling with the bread or serve with additional toasted bread pieces on the side.
