Ingredients

4 slices of thick bread (preferably brioche or Texas toast)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

A pinch of salt

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Fresh berries or banana slices, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Toast Base: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Make the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, blend the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. If you’re using vanilla extract, add it to the softened butter in the next step.

Butter Perfection: In another bowl, cream the softened butter until it’s fluffy. If desired, mix in the vanilla extract for added depth of flavor.

Spread the Love: Evenly spread the cinnamon butter mixture onto each slice of bread, making sure to cover all the edges.

Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mix over each buttered slice until well covered.

Bake to Golden Perfection: Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are crisp and the tops are golden brown.

Finishing Touch: For an extra touch of sweetness, dust with powdered sugar as soon as they come out of the oven.

Serve & Enjoy: Cut the toast into triangles or serve whole. Pair with fresh berries or banana slices for a delightful and nostalgic breakfast or snack.
