1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for optimum juiciness)

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

4 large burger buns

1 cup sliced pepperoni

Extra mozzarella cheese for topping

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Grill: Start by preheating your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.

    Prepare the Meat Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix them gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.

      Form the Patties: Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing while cooking.

        Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the hot grill or griddle and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, and immediately add a spoonful of pizza sauce on top, followed by a generous handful of sliced pepperoni and extra mozzarella cheese.
