Ingredients
  

1 cup popcorn kernels

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or truffle oil for extra flavor)

1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for best results)

1 tablespoon truffle oil

Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions
 

Pop the Corn:

    In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Test the oil by adding two or three popcorn kernels; when they pop, the oil is ready. Add the rest of the popcorn kernels to the pot, cover it with a lid, and shake it gently to coat the kernels with oil. Continue cooking, shaking the pot occasionally, until the popping slows down (about 2-3 seconds between pops). Remove the pot from the heat.

      Flavor the Popcorn:

        Once the popping has stopped, carefully remove the lid (watching for any remaining hot kernels). Sprinkle the salt over the popcorn and toss gently to combine. Drizzle the popcorn with truffle oil and toss again to ensure an even coating.

          Add Parmesan and Seasoning:

            While the popcorn is still warm, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over it. Toss well to distribute the cheese. For an added kick, season with freshly cracked black pepper to taste.

              Garnish and Serve:
